Cyber stalking is taken seriously just like stalking and you can get the same charges depending on what is happening (Working to halt online abuse, 2010)
Cyber stalking is usually classes as a misdemeanour, but can become a felony(Free Advice Legal, 2015).
If someone were to threat bodily injury or who directs communication to a minor under 16 years of age would get a third degree felony punishment (Free Advice Legal, 2015).
Stalking has even become a crime in every state in Australia (Is stalking a crime?, n.d)
If you were to report your stalker to the police, the stalker can then become arrested and charged and need to appear in court (Is stalking a crime?, n.d).
